Tom was born in Sacramento and moved to this area with Pacific Bell 50 years ago. His grandfather, who was born in Rail Road Flat and always had a deep affection for this region, influenced Tom's connection to the area. Tom spent 32 years working with Pacific Bell (later AT&T), where he oversaw several switching offices in the Mother Lode area. Eventually, he transitioned to a role in Technical Support for Nevada Bell and Pacific Bell. His decision to join the Board was driven by a desire to give back to his community.
